Bought this as a second TV for the house, and it's done the job quite nicely. The picture is crisp, sound is plenty loud for the small room it is in, and it looks nice and sleek.

The only issue I've had is that every once in a while, the TV will start to fade to white and then stay all white. Turning the TV off and back on takes care of this. This happens once every few months (so certainly not a real issue) and I'm not sure if it's a problem with this TV model, or just the one I purchased. This also only happens when using the HDMI input (as far as I've experienced).

This is my first HDTV that I have bought, simply put, gorgeous!! The picture on this tv is super crisp. The blacks are incredible, my only complaint which is minor is the sound, the sound is great but there is a bit of vibration when it's set too loud. I have noticed no ghosting at all! which is surprising for a 60hz LCD. Perfect for any type of gaming, Forza 3, MW2, Mass effect 2.

All in all for the price, this baby is great!

Bought this in December 2007, and it was money well spent. My wife wanted to upgrade from our 35" tube. I was reluctant, but am happy I went along. I had seen LCDs at friends and relatives houses, and was convinced that they were not that much better than what we had. Well they definately didn't have this.

The picture quality on the HD chanels is amazing. My wife, who does not watch sports, will watch now just to see the picture.

The sound is a little worse than what we had in our tube TV, but I knew that going in. If I want realy good sound, for a movie or music, I run it through our surround sound and its all good.

If you can find one of these at a discount for its age, you will not be dissapointed.

i had looked all over for a tv that had a reasonable price plus gave me a great picture. well i think i got what i was looking for. my only complaint is that i do not understand what s-video, hdmi, this kind of cable and that kind of cable is supposed to be used for, but i sat and read a little longer and figured it out. that really was no problem but i wanted to plug in and start watching right away. i think that for the price you will not do better or as good buying any other brand. i look at tv for pleasure not look at it for what it does not have. i plan on buying another one as soon as i move. they said it would be here between 3pm and 7pm well to my surprise it was delivered at 11am, just imagine ahead of delivery time. it does not get any better dealing with amazon and their delivery system.

Let me be the first to say that I am not a techie. I am not an HDTV expert. I am a value-conscience consumer who was looking for a 42" HDTV for my living room.

I was looking for at least 120Mhz, 3 HDMI connections, a TV that could hold its own in a well-lit room, and something that was easy to configure.

After researching TVs for days on end, I had narrowed it down to a Samsung, LG and Toshiba. I then happened to have a hotel stay in a room with a 42" LG HDTV -- I was far from impressed, so I crossed that one off of the list. When I came across a listing for the Toshiba Regza through Amazon.com for 9, I decided to pull the trigger.

I have been impressed so far. Set up was a breeze and the user menu options are intuitive enough that I was able to play around with the settings to get a picture that I am happy with. The thing I notice most is that the colors just jump out at you (I have a 32" Vizio HDTV previously). For the first few days, it was somewhat disorienting how crisp and clear the picture was. Watching any HDTV footage - sports, movies, anything, it has been a great picture.

Its not a true 240hz, but rather 120hz coupled with Toshiba's proprietary "MotionFlow" technology. I have seen no lag time in the picture, no interference, no clutter in the picture.

All in all, I am a satisfied customer.

This is only my second LCD TV, my first being a 26" Toshiba 720p model which was made in 2006 or so. Wow, what a difference three years and 1080p makes! First of all, the screen on this set is much brighter than the 26" set and the viewing angle is much improved. The 26" set also had terrible speakers which had all sorts of problems with bass, treble, or just generally with loud volume. Problems all over the place really. It was like they just put really big laptop speakers in there. Toshiba seems to have ironed out that problem, at least regarding my experience with this set. The speakers are everything I would expect from a quality set and I have had no adverse issues from them at all. They sound great at all levels/volumes. Lastly, but certainly not least, I had no idea what a big difference the 1080p made. It is really, really crisp and very nearly plasma quality. Just night and day over the 720p. Again also some of this is probably due to technology advances in the past 3 years in Toshiba's manufacturing process. I got this TV for 9.99 with free shipping from Amazon. You really can't beat that. I know this same model in the 720p version is on sale for around 0-0 at several outlets but trust me the 1080p is worth the extra -. Also when it comes to resale value the upgrade it will certainly pay for itself. The bottom line: great picture, great case/cosmetics, great sound, great price. There isn't a single thing I don't like about this set and it is rare that I can say that about an electronics item. Easy 5/5 stars.

Have had this TV almost 2 weeks. The picture is great, do not have the hd cable box hook-up as yet, but picture is still great. Fantastic for movies. The major setback is the sound. Listening to any music channels the bass must be turned off totally. The thumping sound is really bad when music is being played. I hope to get surround sound soon to take care of this problem. Another problem is the remote. Has a slide indicator on the side of the remote to switch to tv, cable, dvd etc....It is pretty hard to pick up the remote without accidentally changing this switch. Should have moved to the front of the remote. All in all pretty satisfied.

I did a lot of research before making this purchase, looking at other Toshiba models as well as other brands and spec wise, this set had all the others beat hands down! This purchase has been a great experience from the purchase price to the free delivery and most importantly the performance of the set. The sound on this set was much better than expected and I should have rated that a five as well, because you can't expect theater sound from such small speakers. Everyone knows that you need to use a surround sound amp to experience theater like sound and still people harp on the sound of these sets (duh). I consider myself very particular when making such purchases and always try to strike a balance between cost vs quality. I believe this set is by far the best of the entry level 120hz/240 clear scan set out there and competes admirably with the full blown 240hz as well as led back lit sets. There have been some interesting somewhat negative reviews on this set, but honestly unless these folks received a lemon, I think they are simply suffering from buyers remorse and most likely would complain if hung with a new rope. Oh and lets not forget the reported lack of deep blacks on this set and other lower priced sets... well I can't speak for the others, but the blacks are just fine on this set so go ahead and spend ,000 to ,500 dollars more and see if you can tell the difference. And finally lest we forget the off angle viewing angle which is said to be poor unless you spend an additional ,000 dollars... well I have gone from side to side until all I see is the back of the set and there is no loss in quality as long as you can see the screen. And last but not least glare on the shiny screen that Toshiba chose to use on this set. My viewing room has windows on three sides and yes there is some reflection on the screen from the windows at times and guess what?... I draw the drapes when watching a program that is in high definition so I get all the detail and the glossy screen adds contrast, but when watching the news who cares? I hope this helps sort through some of the reviews as some seem to rate the product a five just because it arrived and still others give poor ratings because they are in a bad mood I guess.

I'm not a big spender and so I was very happy to see that the Toshiba 26AV502R 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV was being sold for under 0. I bought it refurbished and it seems to be in perfect working order (no dead pixels) and I couldn't ask for any more quality for the price. The TV has enough inputs (2 HDMI, 2 components, PC, s-video, analog) and works well with my setup. The volume isn't a problem, but I prefer it hooked up to my stereo. The picture does look like it leans slightly towards the red spectrum, but for the price, you can't beat it. This is a small detail and colors can be adjusted through the menu. I have a Xbox hooked up through HDMI (at one point, through components) and the picture comes in great with no lag at all. The PC input is great and I was finally able to project to my TV even though my graphics card doesn't not have a TV out feature. Since this is a monitor, it was able to project up to the 720p quality of my computer. Hulu never looked better. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to the bargain HDTV buyer. If you have more cash, of course, spend it on a Samsung or a Sony.

I bought this TV last Christmas season and paid 9...and at the time I was thrilled, compared this to many many other brands, some cheaper, some more expensive. This had by far the best picture of all. Some complain about sound quality but for a TV with small 10w speakers the sound is fine, face it, you can' get theatre quality sound from a TV, if you want that spend the money on a home theatre system. I really have no complaints about the TV, the picture is great from Dish Network, over the air, and an upconverting DVD player. I would highly reccoment this TV.

We moved into a new house and were on a mission to buy 3 televisions. After looking at all the televisions out there in our price range, and looking at all the displays next to each other, this one instantly popped out at us. I know we aren't supposed to judge a tv when it's next to a bunch of others, but I couldn't help looking at all the other ones and how my eyes just kept coming back to this model. The blacks seemed darker, deeper and the colors were more vivid and crisper. I ended up buying three 52" for the house. I'll start of by saying that the picture is beautiful. It has full side inputs and a lot of rear inputs. One thing to mention is if you are hanging it, the rear inputs are almost impossible to reach and since they point straight back and not downward, there may be a problem with some cabling. Toshiba, like any other manufacturer, put their light up logo right in front and under the screen so it's in the way when you are watching tv, however, they were smart enough to allow you to turn it off. The control on the tv isn't great - it feels cheap and doesn't light up, but does glow in the dark. Changing between channels is pretty quick, not like some tv's where you have to wait a couple seconds. Watching Planet Earth on BluRay is excellent, except when there is quick panning, such as when they pan to follow a hawk, you can notice some jitter because the refresh rate isn't as fast. I haven't seen a football game on it yet so I don't know how that looks. The sound is not very good, but then again I am not sure of many tv's that have great sound. I have to really turn up the volume in order to hear it clear. It does have different picture modes such as sports, theater, store, etc. I find store to be the brightest, most vivid and yet retain some really deep blacks, however, this mode is not energy compliant. The tv itself is very sexy. It features a matte screen and it's anti-glare is very good, expecially in our master bedroom where windows are next to and in front of where the tv hangs. The casing is a glossy black which does tend to gets fingerprints when touching it. Overall, I think this tv is well worth the price and you will be very happy with the picture quality. Take it from someone who owns 3 of them!

The XV645 series combines the REGZA® Engine (PixelPure® 5G & Resolution+™) with ClearFrame™ 120Hz for superior picture quality, and adds the bottom Deep Lagoon™ design for an appearance that also stands out from the pack.

This is the 2nd Toshiba Regza that I have bought. I bought a smaller screen size about in 2008, and this one in December 2009. Prior to buying the 1st one, I did a lot of reasearch (tip: I bought a 1 month subscription to [..] for .95) and this brand/model received the best ratings for the price range.

I rated ease of use 4 stars only because initial setup required a bit of time and effort (plugging in wires correctly, programming remotes), but I think that's true of initial setup of any home entertainment system. It really had little to do with this particular TV.

I gave picture quality 4 stars because picuture quality is affected quite a bit by glare from the nearby windows during the day. Again, that might be true of any LCD TV (tip: [...] also has guides which describe the different types of TVs for different room conditions).

Overall, I am very happy with both of my Regzas.
